What I like
I have always been an artist, even when I was a little girl I would tell my parents I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I enjoy the creative process. I recently graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art Education. I have always been fascinated by photography, and love making images. Outside of photography I enjoy laughing and having a good time with friends. I love to travel, even if its down the street. I love seeing new places, and exploring in areas I have never been before. In my down time my favorite thing to do is snuggle up on the sofa with a warm blanket and a good movie.
Who I am
I am Lindsi Jones, 26 years old from South Georgia. I am a very relaxed, easy going, open minded person.
Why Photography
My fascination with photographs began when I was a small child. Long before I was born when my mother was a child, my family immigrated to America from Cuba. During this time leaving Cuba was difficult and the process took years. During the years before they left, my grandmother mailed envelope after envelope of photographs to our family in America. Photographs from her wedding, photos of their home, photos of my mother, aunt, and uncle growing up. She knew the importance of these photos, of all possessions they had and left behind, the photos are what is still here today. I remember looking at these old photographs of my family, some of the people I had never met, some were no longer living, they were images of places I had never been. Although I was not even born at the time the photos were taken I know the stories of the people in them, I know their faces, and will always remember them. Because of those family photographs the people in them will live on. For me photography is not only an art form but a connection to our pasts. Its my goal as a photographer to document life, your life, in a way that moments can be shared for years to come, by generations of people. Its my hope because of me, and the images I produce, you can sit with your grandchild and give them a glimpse into the past, just like my grandmother did with me.
