How many images will I receive?

Each session will result in 25 to 50 proofs, which will be included in an online gallery for easy viewing, and will be given to you on a DVD with personal use/printing rights.

What can I do with a DVD of my images?

Your DVD will contain all proofs from your session in high resolution. With this disc and personal use rights you can have unlimited prints made at any lab of your choice. You can also upload them to social media sites such as Facebook, email them to family members, or use them for a screen saver/digital picture frame.

Can I bring my dog?

Pets are always welcomed to a portrait session as long as they can be kept on a leash for safety purposes.

What should I wear for my session?

The goal of a portrait session is to focus on the face. When choosing an outfit you don’t want to pick something that will draw attention away from your face.   Avoid selecting outfits that feature bright colors, loud patterns, busy prints, or logos. Denim in any color for pants and jackets works well. It’s classic, it’s informal and it comes in lots of great colors.  For shirts black is a great color, so is white and different shades of basic colors such as red, green, blue along with maroon make great choices. My personal favorite color shirt for portrait sessions is brown, or navy blue. If you have a  session that involves more than one person such as a family session or engagement session be sure to choose colors that complement each other.  It’s not necessary to be matching, but keeping everyone dressed in similar styles looks great.

The most important thing is to be comfortable. Wear something you can easily move around in. If your daughter hates wearing dresses don’t make her wear one for her portraits, if your son hates wearing shoes don’t force them.  Being relaxed, laid back, and having fun, will show more in your portraits than the finest of clothing!

Can I change outfits?

Yes! Bring more than one outfit. If you want to change up the look of your portrait bringing a change of clothes is the quickest way to do it. Also items such as coats, jackets, or scarves can help change your look quickly and with very little effort.

How many outfits can I choose?

There is no limit on the amount of outfits you can bring, however keep in mind that most portrait sessions last about an hour. Changing clothes takes time. You don’t want to spend your entire portrait session time changing clothes. I recommend bring 1 or 2 changes of clothes.  If you have a large family group I don’t recommend outfit changes. Also keep in mind that if your session is planned for a public location such as a park, a private area for changing may not be available.

Can I bring my guitar?

Yes! Personal items such as your guitar, a favorite toy, a pet, an umbrella, whatever! The portrait session is about capturing your personality personal items help add value to the portraits. If you think it might be cool for a photograph bring it with you. We may not use it for every photo, maybe not even at all but having options is great.

After the session, how will I see my proofs?

All proofs will be posted online in the proofing area of

Should we take our wedding photos before or after the ceremony? Should the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony?

I highly recommend taking the majority of your wedding photos before the ceremony. Almost all of my bride and grooms see each other before the ceremony. Not only does it make the entire wedding day go more smoothly but it gives me the opportunity to photograph you seeing each other for the first time. This moment is always special and typically some of the best shots from the whole wedding day happen at that moment.  It will give me more time to spend photographing the two of you together with your wedding party and family. It also allows you to go directly to the reception after the ceremony so you can spend all of your time celebrating with your friends and family.  I have never had a couple regret seeing each other before for wedding. All of my couples who do so are very glad they did because it gives them a chance to spend more time with each other on their wedding day, and helps relieve any stress or nervousness about the ceremony However I have photographed many wedding in which all photographs took place after the ceremony. Both with great success.  I am here to help you plan your wedding day photography, and time line for the day.  We will sit down together before the big day and work out a plan that is best for your wedding.

How soon after my wedding will I be able to see my proofs and where do I go to see them?

All proofs will be posted in the proofing area of, about 3 to 6 weeks after the wedding.

Do you offer the option to purchase a digital download, CD or DVD of wedding mages?

All proofed images by Lindsi Jones Photography are available for purchase in digital form.

I have purchased a DVD with my wedding images. Where can I print them?

I recommend using for all of your printing needs. Mpix is an awesome source for high-quality digital prints at affordable prices.  Mpix uses Kodak professional printers and papers, and their machines are calibrated to national color standards.  They offer fast turn around and most orders are received about 2 days after the order is placed.

I DO NOT recommend using local One Hour Photo Centers for printing your images. The machines in these labs are often not well maintained and their operators are typically not trained photographic professionals.

Do you offer wedding albums?

I currently offer leather bound flush mount albums. Each album is custom designed for each couple.  I offer packages that include these albums, and have a variety of album options such as parent albums that can be added to any packages.

What kind of equipment do you have? Do you have backup equipment?

I shoot with Canon camera bodies and lens.  I am currently shooting with a Canon 5D Mark III as my main camera, with a Canon 5D II, and 5D as my backup bodies. I have a variety of professional Canon lens, back up lenses, batteries, flash units, and memory cards.

Do you offer engagement or bridal portrait sessions without being our wedding photographer?

Why should we have an engagement session?

Engagement session we will spend about an hour taking portraits of the two of you. This time is very important because it gives you a chance to meet with me before the wedding, get to know me a little better, get comfortable in front of my camera, and to experience my shooting style prior to the big day. It also gives me the chance to get to know you, and to provide you with beautiful photos of you and your finance in a casual everyday setting.

How many weddings have you photographed? How often do you photograph weddings?

I began shooting weddings as Lindsi Jones Photography in 2006 shooting 10 to 25 weddings each year. In addition to the weddings covered by Lindsi Jones Photography as lead photographer I periodically work with other photographers to assisting them with the tasks of wedding day shooting.
